Early Montessori Class
Having explored the delights of familiar objects and discovered the function of many of them in earlier classes, the children are promoted to develop their fine and gross motor skills, carrying out activities that they see you, as the parent, carrying out at home.
They are seeking to learn life skills that will give them independence and as they persevere to gain these skills a love of learning new things becomes exciting – something we all want our children to feel. During the process of refining their control over every day objects, the children not only gain a life skill that promotes their independence, they are also stimulated to engage in a task for considerable lengths of time, developing extensive concentration periods.
It is magical to see a child sit attentively on a self chosen task, repeating an exercise until they have mastered it, quietly completing it with an inner smile of satisfaction!
